We decided to use Shopify as a platform for this project. Due to our knowledge with the service and its scalability as well as flexibility this felt like and also turned out to be the best choice. With the help of several plugins and extensions we were able to bring TY Community's vision to reality.

Connecting Buyer & Sellers

Our team came up with how the designers and brands that want to be represented on the marketplace can apply and submit their products to be featured. We made sure to create a seamless experience and simple process, as the buyers looking to be featured on the marketplace are also customers from TY Community's perspective.

Challenges & Lessons

The largest challenge we faced with this project was the complexity of the marketplace. It is far more than a traditional online store with just one seller and requires a clear structure. Without this there are sure to be lots of difficulties with scalability and day-to-day processes. We were able to expand Shopify's strong e-commerce infrastructure to allow for third party designers to submit their own products and be featured on the marketplace.
This project taught us that modern e-commerce platforms are customizable and scalable in almost any way. Through close collaboration with the client we were able to deliver a result that matched their vision.
